Description: To be eligible for this award, applicants must:
demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
be citizens of the United States of America;
be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a Bachelor's degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
Semifinalists will be required to provide a recommendation from a community leader, such as a high school principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization, and must provide documentation to certify academic performance and financial need. Description: Students who have been involved with the AAA Safety Patrol program are encouraged to apply. The grant is not limited only to students planning to attend a college or university. The grant money can be used for an apprenticeship program, enrollment in a trade school or participation in any other recognized program that will help students further their education following graduation from high school.

Middletown Community Foundation Scholarships

Deadline: February 14, 2020

Eligibility: Middletown Community Foundation Scholarships for High School Seniors are primarily available to students who live in the greater area of Middletown, Ohio or attend one of the seven schools located within the service area of the Middletown Community Foundation: Bishop Fenwick, Edgewood, Franklin, Madison, Middletown, Middletown Christian or Monroe High Schools.  The criteria vary by scholarship and were set by the original donor of each scholarship. We ask for financial information from all applicants for our local scholarships. 

All applicants should be registered in college or have decided without a doubt to attend college in the fall.  If you are not certain you will be attending school in the fall, please do not apply for scholarships at this time.

Balanced Man Scholarship

To support our mission of Building Balanced Men, the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity (“SigEp”) proudly brings the Balanced Man Scholarship to the University of Cincinnati.

During the 2020 – 2021 school year, SigEp Chapters will award over $225,000 at more than 160 campuses across the country through the Balanced Man Scholarship program. We believe that recognizing students who exhibit balance and all-around excellence is a way to promote this important ideal. Each year, our chapter at the University of Cincinnati awards up to $4,000 in scholarships to incoming freshman students. Our goal is to reward men who exemplify the qualities of a Sound Mind and a Sound Body, as we believe they are essential to leading a balanced life.

Butler County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship

The Butler County Retired Teachers Association offers scholarships in the field of education each year to college-bound high school seniors who attend a public school in Butler County and are planning on becoming teachers.
The $1000 scholarships are for one (1) year and will be awarded to the selected students on Wednesday, May 20th at noon at the Fairfield Community Arts Center, 411 Wessel Dr., Fairfield, OH. Whenever sufficient funds are available, the B.C.R.T.A. will offer a minimum of two (2) scholarships. Last year we awarded three scholarships.

Please do not include letters of recommendation. They will not be used. 

 The committee will select several students from these applications for a fifteen minute interview to be held at the First Baptist Church, Pyramid Hill Rd., Hamilton, OH, in April (date to be announced). Students must provide their own transportation to the church. During the interview, applicants will be asked several questions concerning their reasons for becoming a teacher. Also, they will need to share their philosophy of teaching. The winners and their parents (guardians) will be invited as our guests to attend a luncheon on May 20, 2020 at the Fairfield Community Arts Center for the presentation of the scholarships. At the luncheon each student will be asked to give a short talk about their interest in teaching. Fill out the application and answers to questions.
