Madison Local Schools is hosting a Hurricane Helene relief donation collection from October 16th through the 18th at all three of our schools.

The Student Councils at the high school, middle school, and elementary level as well as the high school Key Club will be helping collect donations for Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina.

MLSD will be partnering with Berachah Church to send supplies down to Nebo Crossing Church in Marion, North Carolina. Nebo Crossing Church is the distribution center for McDowell County and is also where the National Guard is being housed.

The people in this area are in need of many items listed below:

1. Non-Perishable Food:
• Canned goods (soups, vegetables, meats)
• Dry pasta, rice, and grains
• Peanut butter and jelly
• Granola bars and snack packs
• Canned or boxed meals (chili, stew, mac & cheese)

2. Cleaning Supplies:
• Disinfectants (wipes, sprays)
• Mops and buckets
• Sponges and scrub brushes
• Laundry detergent
• Bleach and household cleaners
• Trash bags

3. Baby Supplies:
• Diapers (all sizes)
• Baby wipes
• Baby formula and food
• Bottles and pacifiers
• Baby lotion and shampoo

4. General Hygiene Products:
• Soap and body wash
• Shampoo and conditioner
• Toothpaste and toothbrushes
• Deodorant
• Hand sanitizer

5. Feminine Products:
• Sanitary pads
• Tampons
• Liners
• Hygiene wipes

They do NOT need any water or clothing as they currently have plenty to distribute.

If you'd like to donate, please send items with your children to school after fall break!
