ABC Bootcamp
Kindergarten is kicking off the year with ABC Bootcamp! ABC Bootcamp is a fun way to introduce the letters and sounds of the alphabet by focusing on identifying and writing a specific letter each day. “We focus on two or three letters over the course of the week,” says one of Madison Elementary’s Kindergarten teachers, Brittany Flory. “This includes teaching the letter sound and words that begin with that sound.”
At the end of the camp, students will create a vest or shirt for the letter of their choosing. Each class will then have a fashion show to showcase and celebrate each letter they have learned! This is a fun, creative way for young students to engage with learning letters and sounds, setting the stage for a love of reading throughout their lives.
We would also like to welcome Miss Martinez to the Kindergarten team this year. Miss Martinez previously taught second grade but is excited to begin her fifth year of teaching in Kindergarten!
