Our Visual Arts program cultivates the whole student, gradually building multiple literacies while developing intuition, reasoning, imagination, and mental and physical dexterity into unique forms of expression and communication. The visual arts equip students with the necessary skills for 21st-century learning and allow students to apply contemporary methods of investigation.
Our Visual Art students are recognized for their talents during the annual SpringFest Art Show, National, State and in local juried art shows. Students have the opportunity to enter art contests that include Miamisburg Art Gallery, The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, The Governor’s Art Show, Middletown Art Center, The Middletown Arts Festival, and the Congressional Art Show. Students also have the opportunity to be involved in the Art Club.
Our High School programs span Studio Art ( Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Stained Glass), Digital Arts and Design.
Students who participate in visual art classes at Madison Jr/Sr High School, have the opportunity to exhibit their art works in the Springfest Art Show at the High School Art Exhibition. The Visual Art Department brings juror/judges to award prizes of first place, second, third, forth and honorable mention in various categories. In addition, students will be awarded prizes for Best Of Show, The People’s Choice Award, and The Principals Award.
The Senior Art Award will be presented annually at graduation. The Junior High Art Awards are presented during the end of year annual Jr. High Awards Program in May.
We strive to provide a curriculum that appeals to the many facets of the student body. Our newest classes include Honors Choir and AP Art (drawing).
