Principal's Message
Hello Madison Mohawks!
My name is Chris Smith and I am starting my 4th year as the HS Principal at Madison Local. I am looking forward to the return of our students for the 2024-25 school year. There were plenty of good memories made from this past year and I’m looking forward to making many more at Madison High School this coming school year.
This will be my 10th year as a HS Administrator, my 21st year as a School Administrator, and my 34th year in Education. I have been married to my wife Jodi for 37 years and we have 2 grown children, Dalton and Kacey. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, Masters in Educational Leadership from Ohio University, and Superintendent License from Xavier University.
Interesting facts: I played and coached college basketball at Mt. Vernon Nazarene Univ. I then attended graduate school at Miami University and coached men's basketball for 3 years. Before we had children, Jodi & I lived in Oxford and the west side of Hamilton for 7 years where I substitute taught in Butler County schools for several years.
Hobbies: Reading articles, blogs and/or Twitter feeds on Leadership and Pedagogy, fishing in running water, lifting weights, Ohio State Buckeyes, Bengals, Reds, and Women's Fastpitch Softball.
